NPFL Expresses Solidarity with Doma United Following Road Accident.
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has expressed its solidarity with Doma United after the team was involved in a road accident. NPFL chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye, extended his sympathies to Doma United chairman Suleiman Umar following the unfortunate incident.
The accident occurred while the Savannah Tigers were returning from Owerri. Their bus skidded off the road along the Makurdi-Lafia route during heavy rain on Monday. Thankfully, no lives were lost.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Doma United and the contingent at this very difficult time,” stated Elegbeleye during his conversation with the club chief.
“On behalf of the NPFL Board and Management, I wish the injured persons a speedy and full recovery, with the hope that they would return to action soon. We are particularly relieved that there was no loss of lives in the accident, and we pray for the safety of all other teams and their fans as we gradually roll up the season.”
This show of support underscores the NPFL’s commitment to the well-being of its clubs and players, highlighting the unity and resilience within the Nigerian football community.
