Noni Madueke’s Hat-Trick Propels Chelsea to First Premier League Win of the Season.
Chelsea secured their first Premier League victory of the season in thrilling fashion, defeating Wolves 6-2 in a pulsating encounter at Molineux, with Noni Madueke stealing the spotlight with a remarkable second-half hat-trick.
The match began explosively, with Chelsea taking the lead just 98 seconds into the game. A well-delivered inswinging corner by Cole Palmer was inadvertently flicked on by Wolves’ Matheus Cunha, leaving Nicolas Jackson unmarked at the back post to nod the ball home. Jackson’s exuberant celebration only served to ignite the Molineux crowd, spurring Wolves into action.
Wolves responded forcefully, with Rayan Aït-Nouri producing a dazzling run to set up Matheus Cunha, who equalised with a crisp low finish from inside the box. The Brazilian’s goal was celebrated with a gesture towards Jackson, adding to the charged atmosphere.
Chelsea regained the lead when Palmer showcased his vision and skill, executing a deft lob from 30 yards that caught Wolves’ goalkeeper José Sá off his line.
However, Wolves fought back once more, drawing level shortly before half-time when Jørgen Strand Larsen poked the ball home from close range after a well-executed free-kick was squared back across the goal.
The second half belonged to Madueke, who settled the contest with three goals in just 14 minutes. Each strike was almost identical, with the England Under-21 forward finding the net with low, angled shots from inside the area, all expertly assisted by Palmer.
João Félix put the finishing touches on Chelsea’s victory, side-footing the ball high into the net from near the penalty spot after being picked out by former Wolves winger Pedro Neto, who had come on as a substitute.
This much-needed win for Chelsea will undoubtedly boost confidence as they look to build momentum in the Premier League under their new manager, Enzo Maresca.
