Tobi Amusan Unfazed by Olympic Pressure After Strong Showing in Atlanta City Games
Following her impressive second-place finish at the 2024 Atlanta City Games, Nigeria’s track star Tobi Amusan has stated she is not under pressure to win a gold medal at the upcoming Olympics. Amusan finished behind America’s Kendra Harrison in a closely contested race early Sunday morning.
In an interview with Making of Champs after the race, the American-based athlete emphasized her focus on enjoying the process and executing her plans step by step.
“No pressure, just having fun. One day at a time, one race at a time, no pressure on. When it’s time for Paris, we’ll definitely show up in Paris,” Amusan said.
She added, “I’m not really worried about time; I just want to execute and get the win; that’s most important. That’s something me and my coaches have been working on, so when we get to championships, we will be worried about time.”
Amusan’s relaxed yet determined approach underscores her confidence as she continues to prepare for the Paris Olympics, where she aims to showcase her best performance.
