Former Kano State governor and national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has reiterated the party’s commitment to strengthening its state chapters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Kwankwaso made this declaration during a visit to the NNPP Osun State secretariat in Osogbo, emphasizing that the party would not take a back seat in the nation’s political landscape.
A statement released by the Osun NNPP Chairman, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, on Friday, confirmed that Kwankwaso, represented by a three-man committee consisting of Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar, Dr. Muhammad S. Khalil, and Alhaji Abdusalam Abdulateef, addressed party leaders and members during the visit.
Kwankwaso noted, “Reports from various states, especially Osun, bring me great joy as the national leader. We are fully aware of the challenges ahead of the 2027 elections, but we are prepared. Nigerians are beginning to realize that past leaders have intentionally spread poverty, but NNPP offers hope with good intentions for the masses.”
He added that the party has begun mobilizing members nationwide and is equipping state offices with necessary resources, including vehicles to enhance their operations, as part of efforts to strengthen the party at the grassroots.
Odeyemi, in his remarks, praised Kwankwaso for prioritizing the welfare of party members and assured that the Osun leadership would continue working to attract more members to build a stronger NNPP in the state.
