The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has refuted claims circulating on social media regarding a purported reduction in the pump prices of petrol and diesel.
In an official statement issued by NNPCL spokesperson Olufemi Soneye, the company dismissed these assertions as untrue and urged Nigerians to dismiss such information.
Reports surfaced on various social media platforms on Tuesday and Wednesday, suggesting that NNPC had lowered the pump price of petrol below N600 and adjusted diesel prices below N900.
Responding to these claims, the NNPCL clarified, stating, “The NNPC Limited wishes to clarify rumours suggesting a price adjustment for Premium Motor Spirit and Automotive Gas Oil at its retail stations nationwide. The company asserts that these reports are false and urges Nigerians to disregard them entirely.”
Furthermore, the company reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining the current supply sufficiency of petroleum products across all its retail stations nationwide.
