Malumfashi Football Club of Katsina has faced expulsion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) as a consequence of violating several sections of the league’s rules and regulations.
The club’s refusal to participate in two consecutive matches in Conference D of the NNL against Sokoto United and City FC of Abuja, along with their failure to honor a rescheduled 45-minute league match against Sokoto United on February 14th, 2024, led to their expulsion.
Dr. Ayo Abdulrahaman, the Chief Operating Officer of the League, stated that Malumfashi FC’s actions constituted a breach of Article 14.7 of the league’s regulations, which carries a fine of One Million Naira (N1,000,000.00).
Following this breach, the league invoked Article 14.10, resulting in Malumfashi’s expulsion from the league, and all matches played by the club were subsequently canceled.
The Nigeria National League has tasked the Katsina Football Association with facilitating the recovery of all fines imposed on Malumfashi, particularly concerning items forcibly taken from referees during the match against Sokoto United in Malumfashi. (Credit: Totorinews)
