Troops of Operation HADIN KAI, the Multinational Joint Task Force, and the Civilian Joint Task Force have successfully eliminated a high-profile Boko Haram commander, Amir Abu Fatima, along with his key deputies, in a daring operation in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
The targeted assault, carried out on Friday morning at Alayaru village near Alagarno, marks a significant breakthrough in Nigeria’s efforts to dismantle terrorist networks in the northeast. Acting on credible intelligence, Special Forces led the coordinated attack, leveraging land, maritime, and aerial assets to strike the insurgent hideout.
During the intense gunfire exchange, troops overpowered the terrorists with superior firepower, prompting many to flee. In addition to Abu Fatima, two other high-ranking insurgents were confirmed killed: Abu Maryam and Abu Modu, a known expert in improvised explosive devices.
