Nigeria Vs Argentina friendly encounter slated to hold later in the year has been cancelled.

Nigeria Vs Argentina International friendly match between Super Eagles and the World champions Argentina has now been cancelled. The much anticipated encounter which had gained global interest since its announcement by organizers will no longer go ahead.
The warm-up game was initially slated to hold later in March in Hangzhou, China, but has to be cancelled due to tension regarding renowned global football star Lionel Messi.
According to information we gathered, the current Inter Miami forward was expected to appear in a club warm-up game in Hong Kong but failed to show up due to a groin injury. His absence sparked a lot of tension which had spread across China.
While speaking to newsmen, the organizers said:
” As a commercial event, a company and the Argentinean soccer team negotiated that the team would play a friendly match in March this year in the city of Hangzhou,”
“However Given the current well-known reasons, according to the competent authorities, conditions to hold the friendly match are not mature, therefore (we) have decided to cancel it”. They said.
Nigeria’s only win over Argentina came in a similar encounter, a friendly match held before the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Which saw the Super Eagles ran out 4:1 winners. Other meetings between the two sides has largely been in favour of the World Champions.
