In a press conference held at the police headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, the Nigeria Police Force issued a cautionary statement, urging Nigerians to refrain from using the trending slogan “No gree for anybody.”
The Force spokesperson, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, emphasized that the newly adopted phrase for 2024 among the youth is “No dey gree for anybody.”
Adejobi expressed concerns based on intelligence reports, highlighting the potential for unrest emanating from a revolutionary sector associated with the slogan.
He emphasized that while the phrase may seem innocuous in everyday conversation, in the realm of security, it is deemed highly perilous and has the potential to incite a crisis nationwide.
He said, “The new slogan for 2024 for our young ones is; ‘No dey gree for anybody’”.
“According to our intelligence, the slogan is coming from a revolutionary sector that might generate difficulties across the country.
“‘No dey gree for anybody’ is considered as just a typical talk, but in the security world, we see it as a highly dangerous term that can spark a crisis.”
