The Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission has disclosed the comprehensive cost and breakdown of the forthcoming 2023/2024 main pilgrimage set for Rome and Greece.
In an official statement signed by Celestine Toruka, the Director and Head of Media and Public Relations, the commission provided insights into the anticipated exercise.
Addressing chairmen and secretaries of all States Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards through a letter dated December 28, 2023, the commission confirmed the commencement date for the pilgrimage scheduled by the end of the current month.
Outlined in the statement, the pilgrimage cost to Rome and Greece is stipulated at N3,000,000 per pilgrim. This sum encompasses various components, including return flights, hotel accommodations, a three-course daily meal plan, and guided tours of holy sites in both Rome and Greece. Additionally, the package ensures transportation via executive luxurious buses for a duration of six nights and seven days. Notably, the cost specified does not incorporate allowances for the traveling pilgrims.
Emphasizing the need for prompt action, the commission urged states that had previously made payments for Israel and Jordan pilgrimages to bridge the difference for participation in the Rome and Greece pilgrimage.
Furthermore, the statement highlighted the commission’s call for both states and private pilgrims to complete payments before services are rendered, setting the deadline for payment on or before the final day of January 2024.
The released details offer prospective pilgrims a comprehensive understanding of the package and its associated expenses, aiming to facilitate a smooth and organized pilgrimage experience to the holy sites of Rome and Greece for the 2023/2024 season.
