Nigeria Basketball Federation Responds to D’Tigress’ Absence from Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony.

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has addressed the recent discussions on social media regarding the absence of the Nigeria women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, from the Paris Olympics opening ceremony. According to the NBBF, the team missed the ceremony due to a lack of prior briefing from the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) and the Sports Ministry.

Out of Nigeria’s 88-member contingent, only 41 were allotted spots for the march past. The D’Tigress team was informed too late, which led to logistical issues preventing their participation. Despite this setback, the NBBF remains committed to ensuring strong representation and performance at the Games.

The Federation has assured fans and supporters that they are working closely with the NOC and the Sports Ministry to address such issues and to support the athletes throughout the Olympics.
