Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has shared a heartbreaking experience of being abandoned by her home state, Abia, during her 2012 battle with a kidney ailment.
In an interview with Seun Oloketuyi on Nollywood on Radio podcast, Nwosu revealed that the Abia State Government left her to fend for herself during her health crisis.
However, help came through a fan from Lagos who admired her work and facilitated support from the Lagos State Government. This experience led her to vow never to render free services to Abia State. Nwosu stated firmly, “I have personally made a pact that there is nothing my state can call me for that I would attend for free. They will pay through their nose for me to be there.”
The 61-year-old actress emphasized her loyalty to Lagos State, which came to her aid when needed, saying, “I am grateful to Lagos State for standing by me. I will always appreciate them.”
