NFF Partners With NOA To Boost National Support Ahead Of Super Eagles’ AFCON Qualifier.
Dr Mohammed Sanusi, General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), welcomed representatives from the National Orientation Agency (NOA) at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja. The meeting focused on preparations for the Super Eagles’ decisive 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Rwanda, set to take place in Uyo on 18 November 2024.
The NOA delegation, led by Mohammed Wase, Coordinator for Youth Engagement and Inclusion, and Jamil Bagu, visited to affirm their commitment to supporting the national team and fostering a spirit of unity. As a demonstration of this support, NOA presented Dr Sanusi with samples of promotional items they plan to bring to the match, including T-shirts, miniature flags, and reflective jackets. These items are intended to rally both players and fans, showcasing national pride and solidarity.
Dr Sanusi expressed gratitude for the NOA’s initiative, highlighting the importance of collaborations between sports and national organisations in promoting unity and morale. “Partnerships like this,” he noted, “strengthen our sense of community and underscore football’s role in uniting Nigerians.”
This upcoming match in Uyo not only marks a crucial fixture for the Super Eagles on their road to AFCON 2025 but also a moment of national pride. The NFF’s partnership with the NOA reflects a shared mission to leverage sports as a powerful tool for national development and cohesion, particularly in engaging and inspiring Nigeria’s youth.
The NOA’s engagement underscores the Nigerian government’s dedication to fostering patriotism and unity through sports, with football at the heart of these efforts. The Super Eagles’ final qualifier against Rwanda is expected to be a thrilling event, with NOA’s active presence and support amplifying the excitement and underscoring the role of football in Nigerian culture.
