NFF Confirms Augustine Eguavoen As Super Eagles Head Coach.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially confirmed Augustine Eguavoen as the substantive head coach of the Super Eagles.
Eguavoen, 58, will lead the three-time African champions through the qualifying campaign for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). His appointment follows a successful interim stint, during which he guided the team to a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and a 0-0 draw with Rwanda in the opening matches of the qualifying series.
In addition to his role with the Super Eagles, Eguavoen will oversee the Super Eagles B team as they prepare for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers next year. He will be supported by a technical crew that includes Fidelis Ilechukwu, Daniel Ogunmodede, Olatunji Baruwa, and Tomaz Zorec.
Eguavoen’s reappointment brings continuity to the squad as they aim to secure a place in the upcoming AFCON and CHAN tournaments. The NFF expressed confidence in his ability to lead both teams to success on the international stage.
