NBBF Invites 20 D’Tigress Players Ahead Of Paris Olympics

20 D’Tigress Players Called Up By NBBF Ahead of Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has announced the list of 20 female basketball players invited for the first phase of D’Tigress’ training camp in preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The camp will be held in Abuja, starting on Friday, June 7, 2024.

 

D’Tigress, coached by the highly regarded Rena Wakama, will be representing Nigeria at the Olympic Games. Wakama led the team to a record-equalling fourth Afrobasket title in Rwanda in 2023.





The list, signed by NBBF Secretary General Peter Njoku, includes:

– Regina Donanu (MFM)

– Khadijat Garba (Hot Coal)

– Naomi Okoro (First Bank)

– Maryam Idris (Nigeria Customs)

– Idubamo Beggi (MFM)

– Ifunaya Okoro (Tindastoll, Iceland)

– Wandoo Hembam (MFM)

– Agatha A. Agatha (Energies Basketball Club, Cotonou)

– Gbemisola Samuel (Dolphins)

– Tewogbade Ayomide (Dolphins)

– Osaretin Samuel (Bayelsa Blue Whales)

– Nkem Akarawe (Nigeria Customs)

– Murjanatu Musa (Celta Zorka, Spain)

– Bright Eze (Nigeria Customs)

 

The training camp marks the beginning of D’Tigress’ journey towards achieving success at the Paris Olympics. The team and coaching staff are committed to rigorous preparation to ensure they perform at their best on the global stage.

 

This announcement comes amidst a series of achievements for Nigerian basketball, with recent accolades and successes in various competitions. The federation continues to support and develop basketball talent in the country, aiming for excellence in international tournaments.
