El-Kanemi Warriors emerged victorious in the President Federation Cup final, defeating Abia Warriors 2-0, with Nasiru Salisu scoring both goals.
This victory marks El-Kanemi Warriors’ third title in the history of the competition.
The match began with some drama as Salisu had a penalty saved in the ninth minute. However, he redeemed himself by giving the Maiduguri club the lead just two minutes after the half-hour mark. Salisu then doubled the lead 15 minutes from time, sealing the victory for his team.
Abia Warriors, playing in the final for the first time, were outplayed by Aliyu Zubairu’s side throughout the match.
As a reward for their triumph, El-Kanemi Warriors will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
