Napoli Rebuffs Kvaratskhelia Transfer Speculations From Agent and Father Of The Georgian Star.
Napoli has officially responded to recent comments from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s camp, firmly stating that the Georgian winger is not for sale and remains under contract until June 2027.
In a statement, the club emphasised their control over the player’s future, declaring, “Kvaratskhelia is NOT for sale. Player’s agents do NOT decide where they are going, but it’s Napoli deciding when they are under contract.”
This assertion follows remarks from Kvaratskhelia’s father and agent suggesting the player might seek a move away from Napoli. Kvaratskhelia’s father expressed concerns about the club’s instability, telling Sport Imedi, “I don’t want Khvicha to stay in Napoli. He worked with four different coaches in one year, this worries me a lot. He will decide for himself, although it’s uncomfortable for me. I haven’t talked to Khvicha about this topic, and I’m not going to until the end of Euro 2024.”
Adding to the speculation, Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Jugeli, indicated their desire to leave Napoli, stating, “We want to leave Napoli, but now we’re all waiting for the Euro 2024. With Conte, Napoli have big plans. I’m sure they will qualify for the Champions League again next season and fight for the Scudetto. But that doesn’t mean that Kvaratskhelia wants to stay there.”
Jugeli also highlighted the player’s focus on his national team duties and the importance of playing in the Champions League, saying, “The most important thing for him is the national team. Our goal is a team that plays in the Champions League. The worst thing is that if he stays here, Khvicha will lose a year because of that… we are worried.”
Despite these comments, Napoli remains adamant about their stance on Kvaratskhelia’s future, ensuring fans and stakeholders that the player will honour his contract with the club. As the Euro 2024 unfolds, the situation will be closely monitored by all parties involved.
