Serie A champions Napoli have identified Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez as a replacement for Victor Osimhen should the Nigerian decide not to end his stay at the club.
The Partenopei are still working to agree a new deal with Osimhen and are also planning for a future without him.
Osimhen has less than two years on his contract with Napoli.
Off-pitch distractions have recently caused tension between him and the club.
According to Calciomercato, whilst Napoli are still prioritizing a new contract for the striker, they’ve already started sounding out a possible replacement should they ultimately fail to agree a new deal.
Gimenez has impressed for Feyenoord this season, netting 15 times and providing three assists in 11 outings across all competitions.
The Mexican is valued at around €40m and Napoli have already established contact with his entourage.
