Sixteen state governors have established committees to begin the implementation of the new N70,000 minimum wage for workers across Nigeria.
This development follows the Federal Government’s commencement of the new wage payment to its 1.2 million workers last Thursday.
The Accountant General of the Federation, Oluwatoyin Madein, confirmed in a memo to the Budget Office that civil servants would start receiving the new minimum wage from September.
The states that have taken steps towards implementing the new wage include:

3. Sokoto
4. Kebbi
5. Osun
6. Enugu
7. Borno
8. Zamfara
9. Kogi
10. Kwara
11. Gombe
12. Kano
13. Taraba
14. Delta
15. Rivers
16. Jigawa
