The President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, has been apprehended by the Department of State Services (DSS) for his involvement in the creation of a vigilante group in Nasarawa State.
The arrest took place at the Miyetti Allah’s Head Office, raising concerns about potential nationwide violence stemming from the unregistered Nomad’s Vigilante Group.
The DSS, accompanied by Nigerian Army soldiers, executed the arrest at the Miyetti Allah’s Head Office, citing fears that the vigilante group’s existence could pose a threat to national security.
A DSS source highlighted that the group lacked recognition from government security agencies, emphasizing the potential for violence.
Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore’s National Secretary, Saleh Al-Hassan, confirmed the arrest but insisted it was unrelated to the creation of the vigilante group.
“I can categorically tell you that his arrest was not in connection with the creation of the Miyetti Allah vigilante group. We created the group for security purposes, and the police, DSS, and Army were all informed and they knew about it.
“A representative of the Nigerian Army and the DSS were present when we launched the group, and we also informed the Commissioner of Police.”
He stated that the arrest might be linked to clarifications sought by the soldiers, who were reportedly friends of Bodejo. Al-Hassan maintained that the vigilante group had been launched with due notification to the police, DSS, and Army.
