The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Service Charter and Grievance Redress Mechanism was formally revealed by Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.
Launched under the theme “Service Redefined,” this major initiative attracted a lot of attention from important stakeholders who gathered to watch the launch, which was a notable step in the direction of encouraging accountability and transparency in the nation’s maritime sector.
Addressing attendees at the event, Minister Oyetola emphasized the strategic significance of the service charter in completing the ministry’s overarching goals and satisfying the various needs of stakeholders and the general public. He continued, “The launch of the service charter is a clear signal that NIMASA is committed to elevating its service standards.” He emphasized the charter’s function in creating an environment of accountability inside the agency and outlining precise service requirements.
Dr. Bashir Jamoh, the Director General/CEO of NIMASA, echoed Minister Oyetola’s sentiments, highlighting the agency’s steadfast commitment to revolutionizing service delivery standards. He articulated, “The introduction of this service charter represents a fundamental shift in our approach to fulfilling our mandate.” Dr. Jamoh reiterated NIMASA’s pledge to harness technology and adopt a customer-centric approach to modernize operations and enhance stakeholder interactions.
The service charter, meticulously crafted to address critical areas such as registration, certification, and inspection, aims to streamline processes, minimize turnaround times, and enhance accessibility for stakeholders. Dr. Jamoh emphasized the importance of incorporating stakeholder feedback in the charter’s development, ensuring its responsiveness to industry needs.
