Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has pledged that the military will pursue individuals promoting coup d’état in Nigeria, branding them as enemies of the nation.
Speaking at the inauguration of the main entrance of the 6 Division, Nigerian Army and Officers Transit Accommodation in Port Harcourt, Gen. Musa asserted that the law would catch up with such individuals.
Emphasizing the military’s commitment to defending and preserving democracy, Gen. Musa dismissed coup calls, stating that democracy has propelled Nigeria’s development more effectively than any other system.
He cautioned against undermining the democratic process, labeling those advocating otherwise as “evil people” who do not have Nigeria’s best interests at heart.
While acknowledging the challenges facing the country, Gen. Musa urged citizens to remain patient and support the government’s efforts to overcome these hurdles. He assured Nigerians that the current administration is dedicated to improving the economy and addressing national challenges.
Gen. Musa concluded by urging unity in the face of adversity, emphasizing that collective efforts are essential to thwarting the enemies of the state and achieving peace and prosperity in Nigeria.
