Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has broken her silence on the controversy surrounding her and her manager, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, also known as Eezeetee.
Chinwo had accused Eezeetee of diverting $345,000, a case now being handled by the EFCC.
In a statement on her Instagram page, Chinwo’s solicitors revealed that the singer had preferred to keep quiet about the issue but was forced to speak out due to the falsehood being circulated.
According to the statement, Chinwo’s relationship with Eezeetee turned sour in 2019 when she refused to extend her contract with him.
Chinwo alleged that Eezeetee isolated her, prevented people from inviting her to programs, and even lied that she had a terminal illness to prevent her from attending a singing engagement.
The singer also stated that she was not the one who sued Eezeetee, but rather Eezeetee sued her after gospel singer Judikay separated from him.
Chinwo added that after the EFCC’s investigation, it was discovered that Eezeetee had allegedly diverted $274,000 from digital platform revenues.
