Manchester City’s Matheus Nunes Arrested Over Alleged Phone Theft In Madrid Nightclub.
Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes has reportedly been arrested in Madrid on suspicion of stealing a mobile phone at a nightclub. The Portuguese international, aged 26, was detained in the early hours of 8th September at La Riviera, a well-known disco in the Spanish capital.
According to reports from El Mundo and the Daily Mail, Nunes was involved in an incident around 5:30 a.m. after being accused of taking a phone from a 58-year-old man. The man had allegedly tried to photograph Nunes in the restroom of the nightclub without his consent, leading to a confrontation.
In what is described as a moment of frustration, Nunes reportedly seized the man’s phone and refused to return it. Local police were called to the scene, and upon arriving, they found the phone in Nunes’ possession, resulting in his arrest.
Nunes, who was born in Brazil but represents Portugal at the international level, was taken to a nearby police station for questioning. The midfielder, who recently joined Manchester City from Wolverhampton Wanderers, now faces scrutiny over the incident.
No official statement has yet been made by Nunes or Manchester City regarding the arrest, and the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
