Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has reacted to the controversial arrest of popular transgender woman Bobrisky at Lagos airport.
On November 1, 2024, videos circulated online showing Bobrisky being forcefully removed from a London-bound flight and detained.
Seyi Law expressed confusion, asking why Bobrisky was arrested. “I don’t understand this Bobrisky’s case… Did any court ask him not to travel? Why allow him to get on the plane and humiliate him like this?”
This is Bobrisky’s second arrest in two weeks. Previously, he was stopped at the Sème border on October 22, 2024, while allegedly trying to flee Nigeria by road.
Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, had posted pictures with Bobrisky on the flight to London, excitemently writing, “Look who’s on the same flight with me to London, @Bobrisky222.”
After the arrest, Bobrisky pleaded for help on social media, claiming the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) injured him. “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me; I’m badly injured…”
The incident has sparked widespread reactions and questions about the reasons behind Bobrisky’s repeated arrests.
