Leon Balogun Faces Setback with Rangers Due to Injury
Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Rangers defender, Leon Balogun, encountered another setback while representing the club, adding to a season marred by injuries for the Nigerian international.
Balogun has faced a series of injury challenges throughout the season, causing disruptions in his availability for the team.
The defender played a pivotal role in Rangers’ journey to the final of the Scottish Cup, showcasing a superb performance against St Mirren. However, his recent match against Kilmarnock on Sunday ended prematurely when he was substituted in the second half due to injury. Ben Davies replaced him on the field.
Philip Clement, the club’s coach, confirmed Balogun’s injury, expressing hope that it is a minor muscle issue. “Yes, he (Balogun) was injured, that is why I had to replace him. I hope it is a small muscle injury; we will see in the next couple of days. But he struggled too much to continue,” stated Clement.
Balogun’s absence due to injury is a concern for both Rangers and fans, considering his significant contributions to the team’s success when fit. The club will await further updates on the extent of his injury and hope for a speedy recovery for the talented defender.
