Newcastle United Eye Aaron Ramsdale, Manchester United Set to Retain Bruno Fernandes, and Other Transfer News

Newcastle United are reportedly targeting Arsenal and England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. The Magpies are willing to shell out £15 million for the 26-year-old, according to the Telegraph.

In other transfer news, Crystal Palace and Fulham have expressed interest in Fiorentina and Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, who is currently on loan at Manchester United. Scouts from both clubs have been sent to watch the 27-year-old, as reported by the Sun.

Manchester United may face a challenge in keeping Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes, 29, without offering a pay rise from his current £230,000-a-week contract. The club, however, considers Fernandes untouchable and will reject any offers for their captain this summer, as stated by Caught Offside.

Following his dismissal from Juventus, Massimiliano Allegri has been offered to Manchester United as a potential long-term managerial target. The 56-year-old Italian could replace Erik ten Hag, should United decide to make a change, reports the Express.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich is eyeing Brighton’s Italian boss Roberto de Zerbi, 44, as their top candidate to replace Thomas Tuchel. According to Bild, Bayern is prepared to pay de Zerbi’s £12 million release clause. The Italian manager has shown interest in the role, having turned down an opportunity at AC Milan.

Manchester United are also in the market for Everton’s English defender Jarrad Branthwaite but are unwilling to meet the Toffees’ £80 million asking price. They are instead aiming for a cut-price deal of up to £55 million, according to Givemesport.

Chelsea seems to have secured the signing of 17-year-old Brazilian winger Estevao Willian from Palmeiras, agreeing to a deal worth up to £60 million, as per HITC.

Wolves are poised to sign Southampton and Scotland forward Che Adams, 27, on a free transfer. Everton and Leeds United were also interested in Adams, but Teamtalk reports Wolves are the frontrunners.

Celtic are hoping that the allure of Champions League football will attract Queens Park Rangers’ English defender Jake Clarke-Salter, 26, despite likely higher wage offers from Crystal Palace, Burnley, and Bournemouth, according to Football Insider.

Southampton has paused contract discussions with English goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, 34, amid reported interest from Celtic, as reported by Football Scotland.

Michael Carrick, the 42-year-old English manager, is expected to sign a new deal with Middlesbrough, committing his future to the club despite interest from Premier League teams, according to the Telegraph.

Lens boss Franck Haise has expressed interest in signing departing Manchester United defender Raphael Varane. However, the Ligue 1 club might struggle to afford the 31-year-old Frenchman, who started his career at Lens, as mentioned by L’Equipe.

Real Madrid has reportedly reached an agreement in principle to extend Luka Modric’s contract for another year at a reduced wage. The 38-year-old Croatia midfielder is set to continue with Los Blancos, according to Onda Madrid via Mundo Deportivo.

Lastly, AC Milan has made new contact with Lille boss Paulo Fonseca. The 51-year-old Portuguese manager is being considered to replace Stefano Pioli, as reported by various sources.
