Lagos State Reopens Teaching Recruitment Portal To Boost Employment.
The Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has relaunched its recruitment portal, marking a significant step towards enhancing access to teaching opportunities across the state. The initiative, announced at a press briefing, reflects the state’s commitment to fostering equity, fairness, and inclusivity in its teaching workforce.
Mrs. Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, TESCOM Chairman, highlighted the portal’s user-friendly design and its focus on inclusivity, ensuring that young people, individuals with disabilities, and other marginalised groups have equal access to job opportunities. “This portal stands out for its accessibility and commitment to creating opportunities for all,” she said.
The reactivated platform aligns with Lagos State’s employment policies and digital transformation agenda. Beyond serving as a recruitment tool, it will provide data-driven insights to support workforce planning and evidence-based policymaking. “This is more than a teacher replacement platform; it’s a strategic tool to build a sustainable and inclusive education system,” Mrs. Peregrino added.
The portal, accessible from 1st July to 14th July 2025, offers a centralised platform for individuals with a degree in Education and other relevant qualifications to apply for entry-level teaching positions (GL08). TESCOM encouraged eligible candidates to submit applications via the official portal.
This move underscores the commission’s dedication to creating a transparent and accessible environment, enabling citizens, particularly the youth, to pursue rewarding teaching careers while contributing to the development of Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.
