To support the most vulnerable Lagosians, the Lagos State Government has again presented cheques to 103 Lagos indigent residents in line with the present administration’s commitment to uplift the marginalised and provide relief during challenging times.
Presenting the cheques to the Beneficiaries on Wednesday at Alausa on behalf of the Special Adviser, Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Tajudeen Afolabi, the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Abiola Kosegbe expressed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s unwavering dedication towards the welfare of the indigent Lagosians.
She said that the funds being disbursed through the financial assistance programme will enable the indigents to meet their essential needs such as healthcare, education, housing and small business ventures.
The Permanent Secretary reiterated that the financial assistance requests being received at the office daily are numerous, hence the need to meticulously process and identify individuals who fulfil the criteria to aid and ensure that the support reaches those who truly deserve it.
Kosegbe averred that people with health challenges are being given priority in the financial assistance scheme to ensure that they get the required treatment for their health challenges as soon as possible.
While urging all the beneficiaries to register on the Lagos State Health Management Scheme (LASHMA), she added that the Office is putting plans in place to pre-register all beneficiaries on the Lagos State Health Management Scheme (LASHMA) for maximum and quality health care.
Speaking on other activities of the Office, the Permanent Secretary urged all present to log onto the CitizensGate 2.0 (CGV2.0) Platform and interface with the Lagos State Government by making enquiries, lodging complaints, and giving suggestions as well as commendations.
While explaining how the platform works, Kosegbe further said that the CitizensGate 2.0 (CGV2.0) Platform is tailored towards taking governance to the doorstep of Lagosians irrespective of their social class for all-inclusive governance, bringing governance closer to the governed, delivering political and social benefits to all Lagosians.
The newly appointed Senior Special Assistant to Mr. Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Mr. Saheed Balogun and some Directors in the Office were also in attendance during the presentation of cheques.
