The Lagos State Police Command has officially acknowledged receiving a petition from Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage, accusing Grammy nominee Davido of bullying and threats to her life.
Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the receipt and stated that investigations are underway.
In her petition, Savage detailed an exchange where she expressed disappointment over Davido’s behavior in response to an Instagram story involving her and his baby mama, Sophia Momodu. Savage alleged receiving disrespectful messages and subsequent threats from Davido, who reportedly warned her to be cautious in Lagos.
Savage’s petition also mentioned calls from mutual connections questioning her relationship with Sophia Momodu.
The singer claimed that Davido labeled her as the aggressor in the situation, leading to online and offline harassment. She characterized Davido’s actions as a threat to her rights to life, privacy, and dignity.
The social media buzz on January 6, 2024, arose when both artists unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Speculations about the cause range from their children’s friendship to Tiwa Savage’s association with Sophia Momodu.
Prior to Savage’s petition, music executive Tee Billz had criticized Davido for allegedly disrespecting his family and bullying Tiwa Savage. As of now, Davido’s manager, Asa Asika, remains unreachable for comment.
The situation unfolds amid heightened attention to the dynamics between two prominent figures in the Nigerian music scene.
