Lagos authorities have activated a 36-hour traffic diversion plan for repairs on the Third Mainland Bridge, initiated by the Federal Ministry of Works.
Beginning at 12:00 am on Wednesday, March 6th, and extending until 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 7th, 2024, the Island-Iyana Oworo bound lane will be inaccessible to vehicular traffic.
Motorists are strongly advised to seek alternative routes provided during this period, while the Iyana-Oworo inwards island-bound carriageway will remain open for commuters heading towards the Island.
After the 36-hour closure, the initial traffic diversion setup on the bridge will be reinstated. Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, extends gratitude to Lagosians for their patience and understanding.
He also appealed for cooperation with the Traffic Management Officials deployed to the axis to minimize discomfort during this closure.
