Kenyan President William Ruto is set to address prominent U.S. technology firms and investors during a U.S.-Kenya Business Roadshow scheduled for September 15 in San Francisco.
This event is organized jointly by the U.S. Government’s Prosper Africa initiative and the U.S. Embassy in Kenya.
The roadshow aims to showcase the vast business and investment opportunities within Kenya’s thriving tech sector. It forms part of a larger three-city U.S.-Kenya Roadshow tour designed to present attractive prospects for companies interested in conducting business and investing in Kenya.
Often referred to as the “Silicon Savannah,” Kenya has successfully cultivated a dynamic tech sector and is poised to establish itself as the premier destination for tech-focused investments and innovation across Africa.
Kenya’s technology ecosystem is already flourishing, boasting one of the continent’s highest rates of venture capital investments.
Remarkably, despite a 35 percent global decrease in venture capital flows last year, Africa experienced an 8 percent increase in total funding, with Kenya recording a remarkable 33 percent growth rate, one of the highest on the continent.
The U.S. roadshow commenced on April 25 in New York City, with a specific focus on the apparel sector. It then made a stop in Chicago on September 13 to highlight agri-business before concluding in San Francisco. Each event featured a combination of panel discussions, business matchmaking sessions, and networking opportunities.
