Juventus Clarifies Hacking Incident After Fake Arda Guler Signing Announcement.
Juventus has confirmed that their official English X (formerly Twitter) account was hacked after a false post appeared announcing the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler. The misleading post included an image of the 19-year-old Turkish international at an airport, with the caption: “Welcome to Juventus, Arda Guler. The rising star of football is now part of the Juventus family.”
However, Juventus quickly addressed the situation through their Italian X account, explaining that their English account had been “compromised” and urging followers to disregard the “false information.”
Even if Juventus were interested in signing Guler, any potential move could not take place until January, as both the Spanish and Italian transfer windows are currently closed.
Guler, who has been dubbed the ‘Turkish Messi’, joined Real Madrid from Fenerbahce in July 2023 for a reported fee of £16.7 million. Since his arrival at the Spanish club, he has made 23 appearances and scored six goals. He was also a standout at Euro 2024, becoming the youngest player to score on his European Championship debut when he netted Turkey’s second goal in their 3-1 victory over Georgia.
