In a recent development concerning the investigation into the death of popular singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, the Lagos State Police Command has re-arrested afro singer Ibrahim Owodunni, popularly known as Primeboy.

Primeboy, along with Ayobami Fisayo, also known as Spending, were reportedly apprehended on Tuesday morning during their visit to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti, Yaba.

Sources close to the investigation revealed that Primeboy and Spending had been instructed to report to the SCID weekly since the investigation into Mohbad’s death commenced.

During this routine visit, Primeboy was unexpectedly detained, while Spending was released after signing. The reasons behind Primeboy’s detention remain undisclosed at this time.

When contacted, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated he was unaware of the arrest but promised to investigate the matter.

Recall that Primeboy had previously been declared wanted by the police on October 4, 2023, following which he turned himself in two days later.

Meanwhile, Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, filed an application in January at the coroner court in Ikorodu, seeking to call more witnesses to testify in a bid to uncover the cause of his son’s death. Among the witnesses requested are Primeboy, Spending, and Boluwatife Adeyemo, also known as Darosha, who were allegedly with Mohbad at the time of his death.

Mohbad, a former signee of Marlian Music owned by Naira Marley, passed away on September 12 at the age of 27, sparking controversies on social media.

The Lagos State Police Command had previously inaugurated a special investigation team to probe Mohbad’s death, leading to the arrest of individuals including Naira Marley and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry.

Mohbad’s body was exhumed for an autopsy on September 21, 2023, to determine the cause of death. The police await the results of the autopsy, while Mohbad’s father has insisted that nobody should claim his son’s body for burial without his consent.
