Nigerian Navy Officer And Two Others Regain Freedom After Kidnapping Ordeal.
A Nigerian Navy officer, Navy Lt. Cynthia Akor, who was kidnapped alongside two others in Abuja, has regained freedom following swift security intervention.
The victims were abducted from their residence in the Mpape area of the Federal Capital Territory on Friday night by armed men. However, following coordinated efforts by security agencies, they were successfully rescued.
Sources confirmed that the kidnappers had initially demanded a ransom of N100 million, sparking immediate concern among family members and security operatives. In response, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command and other security agencies launched an operation to track down the perpetrators and ensure the victims’ safe return.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, assured that efforts were ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the crime and prevent further incidents.
The successful rescue of Lt. Akor and the other victims has been met with relief, as concerns over security in the nation’s capital continue to rise. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes, urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
