Bobrisky Reportedly Arrested On Return To Nigeria.
Popular social media personality Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has claimed that he was arrested by Nigerian immigration officials upon his return to the country.
Bobrisky made the announcement on Tuesday via his Instagram handle, stating: “Guys, I have just been arrested by immigration in Nigeria. I don’t know what I did o.”
As of now, immigration authorities have not confirmed the arrest or provided any details regarding the alleged incident.
A History of Controversy
Bobrisky has remained a divisive figure in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, gaining prominence through social media as a crossdresser before later identifying as a transgender woman. His lifestyle and public persona have often clashed with Nigeria’s conservative views on gender identity.
His reported arrest comes months after he announced his relocation abroad, citing personal well-being. Last year, he was sentenced to six months in prison for abusing the naira by spraying money at a public event, a ruling that sparked significant debate.
Following his release, activist VeryDarkMan alleged that Bobrisky had paid ₦15 million to EFCC officials to have money laundering charges dropped. He also claimed that Bobrisky’s influential connections helped him serve his sentence in a private apartment instead of a standard correctional facility. Bobrisky denied these allegations and threatened legal action.
A Sudden Return and Unclear Charges
Despite previously declaring that “nothing will bring me back to Nigeria,” Bobrisky has now returned, only to face an alleged arrest. Fans and followers are eagerly awaiting official confirmation and details about the nature of his reported detention.
