Jigawa Commissioner Suspended Amid Alleged Affair Investigation.
The Jigawa State Government has suspended Auwalu Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties, following allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a married woman in an uncompleted building.
The suspension was announced on Saturday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Bala Ibrahim, who confirmed that Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi had approved the decision. This action, according to Ibrahim, is to allow for a thorough investigation into the claims brought forward by Kano State’s Hisbah Commission.
In the official statement, Ibrahim explained that the suspension was a precautionary measure to ensure a fair and transparent investigation into the matter, reaffirming the state’s commitment to ethical governance.
“Governor Namadi is committed to upholding the trust of Jigawa citizens through transparency and accountability. The decision to suspend the commissioner was made to maintain the integrity of the investigation and the administration as a whole,” Ibrahim noted.
The government stressed that all allegations are taken seriously and reiterated its dedication to maintaining ethical standards in public office. The investigation will determine further actions once completed.
