Jandor Meets Tinubu, Set To Disclose New Party

Jandor Meets Tinubu, Set To Disclose New Party.

Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, who was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State during the 2023 general election, is expected to announce his next political move on Monday.

This development follows his recent resignation from the PDP on 4th March 2025, citing persistent internal conflicts, anti-party activities, and acts of sabotage. His departure from the party has fuelled speculation about his next steps, with many anticipating that he will soon declare his alignment with a new political platform.

Jandor’s upcoming announcement comes after a private meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Reports suggest the meeting, which was held between 2pm and 4pm, may have been connected to his political future. While the Presidency has not issued any official statement regarding the visit, political analysts believe it could signal Jandor’s potential defection to a new party.

In a statement following his resignation, Jandor accused some key figures within the Lagos PDP, including former Deputy National Chairman Olabode George and the state party chairman, of undermining his governorship ambition. He alleged that Olabode George had openly supported a rival party’s candidate, while the state chairman of the PDP, Philip Aivoji, had misrepresented his candidacy by falsely claiming he had stepped down from the race.

As speculation continues over his next political move, Jandor is reportedly in discussions with various political figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Heads of State Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, leaders of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and members of a newly formed political coalition. A strategic meeting is set for Friday evening and will continue into the weekend, after which Jandor and his team are expected to make an official announcement.

With the political landscape in Lagos State continuously evolving, all eyes are now on Jandor’s next move and its potential impact on future elections in the state.
