JAMB Extends Registration Deadline Amid Fraud Investigations.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended its registration deadline beyond the initial date of Monday, 7 April 2025, giving candidates additional time to complete their application process.
This development was confirmed on Sunday in a statement issued by JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin. According to the statement, the registration exercise, which commenced on Wednesday, 12 March 2025, will continue until a new closing date is officially announced.
The examination body has urged all prospective candidates to take advantage of this extension by registering at any of the Board’s designated Professional Registration Centres (PRCs), starting from Monday and continuing until further notice.
JAMB explained that the extension was necessary in light of ongoing investigations into candidates suspected of presenting fraudulent A-Level results during the registration process. In response, the Board has implemented enhanced verification measures aimed at identifying and addressing the use of such credentials.
In a further move to ensure integrity in its admissions process, JAMB has appealed to candidates who may have previously submitted fraudulent results to voluntarily withdraw them. The scope of the investigation is also being expanded to cover individuals already admitted into various institutions with suspicious qualifications.
The Board reiterated its commitment to fairness and transparency, noting that these efforts are part of a broader strategy to uphold the credibility of the tertiary admissions system in Nigeria.
Candidates are encouraged to act promptly and honestly, and institutions have been advised to cooperate fully with JAMB’s ongoing verification process.
