The Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN), has unveiled its latest Point of Presence (PoP), at Open Access Data Centres (OADC), in Lagos.
The activation of IXPN’s PoP at OADC Lagos, a flagship facility of Open Access Data Centres, marks a significant milestone in bridging the gap between service providers operating within the Lekki site. With this integration, both new and existing customers will benefit from increased options for connecting to IXPN, thereby promoting efficiency and reliability in data exchange processes.
IXPN’s expansion to OADC Lagos adds to its existing network presence, making it the sole Internet Exchange Point accessible from all major data centres operating in Lagos. Moreover, this initiative aligns with OADC’s strategic vision of establishing edge data centres, positioning data infrastructure closer to points of content consumption to optimize performance and accessibility.
Muhammed Rudman, Chief Executive Officer of IXPN, expressed enthusiasm about the activation of the PoP at OADC Lagos, emphasizing its role in fostering inclusivity and accessibility within the digital ecosystem. Rudman stated, “We are happy to announce that our Point of Presence (PoP) is now live at OADC Lagos. The idea behind the activation of its PoP at OADC is to give IXPN’s members the opportunity to be in all the data centres in Lagos.”
Rudman went on to explain IXPN’s mission of addressing the varied requirements of service providers by extending its footprint across key data centers in Lagos and beyond. Emphasizing the significance of affordability and connectivity choices, he reiterated IXPN’s dedication to streamlining data exchange operations for network providers.
