IPMAN Secures Direct Supply Deal With Dangote Refinery To Ensure Steady Fuel Supply.
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has finalised an agreement with Dangote Refinery to procure petroleum products directly, marking a significant step towards stable and affordable fuel distribution across Nigeria. This announcement was made by IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Garima, during a press briefing in Abuja on Monday, following a meeting of the Association’s National Working Committee.
According to Garima, the agreement follows extensive discussions with Aliko Dangote and the Dangote Refinery management. “We are pleased to confirm that Dangote Refinery has agreed to supply IPMAN with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) directly to our depots and retail outlets,” he stated.
This strategic partnership is expected to bring down fuel prices by eliminating middlemen, thereby ensuring a steady supply nationwide. Garima urged IPMAN members to fully support Dangote Refinery, highlighting the benefits of sourcing products locally and reducing dependency on imports, which will positively affect Nigeria’s foreign exchange market. “IPMAN members should now look towards Dangote Refinery and Nigerian refineries for their supply needs, which aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda,” he added.
The Dangote Refinery, the largest of its kind in Africa and Europe, has already commenced production of petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel. The refinery’s output is set to serve over 30,000 IPMAN members and 150,000 retail outlets across the country. This initiative is expected to bolster job creation, streamline supply chains, and ultimately strengthen Nigeria’s economy.
This agreement concludes months of negotiations and is seen as a major step towards improving the efficiency and affordability of fuel distribution, providing a more stable fuel supply for Nigerians.
