Super Eagles star Odion Ighalo sends Al-Wehda to the Saudi King Cup quarterfinal.
Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo is back among the goals.
The 34-year-old striker once again found the back net in a domestic competition in Saudi Arabia.
Ighalo made his return for Al-Wehda against Al Orubah in a round of 16 Saudi Arabia King Cup fixture played on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
It was a tough encounter with both sides unable to find the back of the net in the first half.
The second half had the second tone to the first with both sides struggling in front of the goal until the intervention of Ighalo.
The Nigerian striker broke the deadlock for Al-Wehda in the 76th minute from a ball through to him by Anselmo Anselmo.
Ighalo celebrated the goal in style showing off his hands and other traditional gestures.
Nawaf Al Azizi wrapped up the game in the 89th minute to give Al-Wehda the victory.
Ighalo, who scored a hat-trick for Al-Wehda against Damac, now has five goals in the league this season.
He returns to action when Al-Wehda takes on Al-Fateh in their next Saudi League fixture scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 2023.
