House of Representatives Donates #100 Million to Team Nigeria for 2024 Olympics.
Team Nigeria’s preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games in France has received a significant boost with a generous donation of N100 million from the House of Representatives. The announcement was made today in Abuja during a plenary session where the House hosted the Minister of Sport, John Enoh, and the Nigerian Olympic team.
Deputy Speaker Ben Kalu revealed that the donation would be sourced from the salaries of the House members. “The money is coming from our salaries,” Mr Kalu stated, emphasising the personal commitment of the representatives to support the national team.
In addition to the collective donation, Aminu Balele, Chairman of the House Committee on Army and representative of Katsina (APC), contributed an extra #3 million to the team. The funds were presented during the plenary session, demonstrating the House’s unified effort to facilitate Team Nigeria’s campaign at the upcoming Olympics.
This financial support is expected to enhance the team’s preparation and performance as they compete on the world stage in France.
