IHF Women’s Trophy Intercontinental Phase: Nigeria To Play Kosovo In Final
Nigeria under 18 women handball team will play Kosovo in the final of the Youth category at the IHF Women’s Trophy Intercontinental Phase following their hard fought 32-28 victory over host Uzbekistan in the semi final on Saturday.
Playing not just against the host but also the fans who were in their numbers at the Alpomish muz saroyi sports hall in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the Coach Shittu Adewunmi Agboola tutored side did all they could to compete but fell short as they lost the first half 17-15.
Second half was different as the girls came out with a full force and defended better as well as taking their chances to defeat the host 32-28 to the shock of their fans.
Captain Kehinde Babatunde who was on goal for Nigeria in a short interview with HFN Media said she is grateful that they were able to win despite how tough it is.
Kehinde also assured Nigerians that the team will be victorious in the final tomorrow against Kosovo.
“The match we played today was really tough and we give praise to God that we won.” Babatunde said.
“We are looking forward to tomorrow’s grace and by God’s grace we will be triumphant”. She concluded.
Nigeria will play Kosovo in the final today, March 3rd 2024.
