GTBank Attributes Recent Service Disruptions To System Upgrade.
Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has linked its recent service disruptions to an ongoing upgrade of its Finacle Core Banking Application System, which commenced on Friday, 11th October 2024. The system migration, designed to enhance customer experience with improved technology, has unfortunately led to significant delays and service challenges.
In a message to its customers, GTBank explained that the transition required the early closure of all branches nationwide on the 11th, with the expectation of reopening on Monday, 14th October at 9:00 a.m. However, due to unforeseen delays, the reopening has been postponed until 12:00 p.m., further compounding the disruptions.
Customers have reported difficulties in accessing their accounts, completing transactions, and experiencing overall service outages. The bank apologised for the inconvenience caused and assured clients that the upgrade is part of its commitment to providing more secure and efficient services in the future.
GTBank has urged its customers to remain patient during this temporary period of disruption, emphasising that the system improvement will result in a more robust and seamless banking experience.
