Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has lauded President Bola Tinubu for putting an end to the influence of “cabals and deities” in the exploitation of fuel subsidy and foreign exchange disparities.
According to Uzodinma, these elements were responsible for the economic challenges facing Nigerians.
In a recent interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Governor Uzodinma revealed that President Tinubu’s interventions have curtailed the activities of certain groups that were taking advantage of the system. He emphasized that fuel subsidy and foreign exchange had become gateways for overnight prosperity in the country.
The governor stated, “In my findings and understanding of the country, there exist cabals and deities who, before dollar business can be conducted, must be worshipped. They are the ones behind artificial media campaigns and opposition-sponsored negative propaganda against a President who is genuinely committed to correcting past mistakes.”
Uzodinma went on to highlight the removal of fuel subsidy, noting that it had been benefiting a select group of cabals who amassed wealth overnight at the expense of the Nigerian populace. He revealed, “We have billionaires who bought private jets and built castles worldwide under the guise of subsidy.”
The governor commended President Tinubu for his efforts in dismantling these exploitative structures, emphasizing that the move would contribute to the overall economic well-being of Nigerians. He urged continued support for policies aimed at correcting the ills of the past and fostering a more transparent and equitable economic environment.
