Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved key appointments in two crucial agencies.
Major Olaniyi Olatunbosun Cole (Rtd) has been appointed as the new Corps Marshal of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps Agency (LAGESC), while Engineer Adefemi Adedimeji Afolabi assumes the role of General Manager at the Lagos State Waste Water Management Office (LASWAMO).
The appointments, effective from January 25th, 2024, were formally conveyed through letters signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro.
The newly appointed Corps Marshal, Major Olaniyi Olatunbosun Cole (Rtd), brings a wealth of experience and leadership from his military background, poised to steer LAGESC towards enhanced efficiency in environmental sanitation. Simultaneously, Engineer Adefemi Adedimeji Afolabi is tasked with overseeing the critical operations of LASWAMO, playing a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the state’s wastewater systems.
Governor Sanwo-Olu has also approved the appointment of three new Deputy Corps Marshals for LAGESC, further strengthening the agency. Mr. Osifeso Olusegun Shakiru assumes the role of Deputy Corps Marshal for Intelligence and Monitoring, Mr. Oyenola Koyejo Quadril takes charge of Discipline and Welfare, and Mr. Apena Idowu Yisa is appointed as Deputy Corps Marshal for Administration. Notably, two of these appointments involve internal elevations, showcasing the state’s commitment to recognizing and promoting talent within its ranks.
The Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, urged the newly appointed officials to exhibit a high level of dedication, diligence, and selflessness in the discharge of their duties. He emphasized the importance of justifying the confidence and trust placed in them by Governor Sanwo-Olu, underscoring the significance of their roles in advancing the state’s environmental objectives.
