Governor Oyebanji Assures Support For Rainstorm Victims In Ekiti State.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has expressed sympathy with residents following the destruction caused by a rainstorm across parts of the state on Saturday evening.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the governor reassured residents that they were not alone in facing the aftermath of the storm, declaring, “We are in it together.”
Governor Oyebanji emphasised the state government’s commitment to the welfare of its people and pledged timely assistance for all those affected. The rainstorm damaged numerous private and public buildings, as well as key facilities, although fortunately no lives were lost.
To ensure swift intervention, the governor has directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to immediately assess the affected properties and determine the level of support required for victims.
Reaffirming his administration’s dedication to the people, Oyebanji urged residents to remain calm and continue their daily activities without fear. He assured them that the government would promptly take inventory of all damaged properties and facilities, with the aim of providing effective and efficient support.
