Governor Nasir Idris Of Kebbi Appoints 200 APC Youths As Special Assistants.
In a move aimed at fostering inclusivity and youth empowerment, Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has appointed 200 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Special Assistants. The appointees, comprising both men and women, received their appointment letters at the APC Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
During the presentation, the state APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, praised Governor Idris for delivering on the promises made during his election campaign. He noted that the governor has fulfilled approximately 80% of his commitments, with plans to complete the rest and even surpass expectations.
Highlighting some of the administration’s achievements, Kana-Zuru mentioned the distribution of free fertilisers and foodstuffs, the construction of roads, installation of solar-powered streetlights, and the completion of the ultra-modern state secretariat.
“If you haven’t visited Kebbi in the last one or two years, you would be amazed at the transformation,” Kana-Zuru remarked, commending the governor’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy.
Kana-Zuru also emphasised the governor’s dedication to running an open and inclusive government, ensuring that all citizens benefit from democratic gains.
“His Excellency, Kauran Gwandu, encourages his appointees to embrace freewill giving and to ensure that democracy’s dividends reach the public.”
He assured the new appointees that they would begin receiving their salaries by the end of December.
Hajiya A’isha Gulabi, the APC Women Leader in Kebbi State, expressed gratitude to Governor Idris for his impactful initiatives, particularly in empowering women and youths. She urged the new appointees to remain loyal and respectful, assuring others that more opportunities would come their way.
“To those who haven’t been appointed yet, please be patient. Your turn will come soon,” Gulabi added.
A cross-section of the newly appointed Special Assistants expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the governor, describing the appointments as a testament to his commitment to youth empowerment and inclusivity.
Governor Idris’s latest initiative underscores his administration’s focus on fostering development and ensuring that the fruits of democracy benefit every segment of society. As Kebbi State continues to witness rapid progress, the appointment of young individuals as Special Assistants is expected to further enhance governance and youth participation in decision-making processes.
