Gabriel Magalhães Set For Surgery Following Hamstring Injury.
Arsenal have confirmed that defender Gabriel Magalhães will undergo surgery after sustaining a hamstring injury during the club’s recent fixture against Fulham on Tuesday.
The Brazilian centre-back was substituted during the match after showing signs of discomfort, and subsequent medical assessments revealed the extent of the injury, which now requires a surgical procedure.
In an official statement, the club said: “Gabi will undergo a surgical repair procedure to his hamstring in the coming days, and immediately begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme, with the aim to be ready for the start of next season.”
The news comes as a blow to the Gunners, with Gabriel having been a key figure in Arsenal’s defence throughout the campaign. However, the club is confident in his recovery timeline and is committed to providing full support during his rehabilitation.
“Everyone at the club will be fully focused on supporting Gabi to ensure he is back to full fitness as soon as possible,” the statement added.
Arsenal fans will be hopeful for a swift and successful recovery for the 26-year-old, who has consistently impressed since his arrival at the Emirates. The club will now turn to its defensive options as it looks to navigate the remainder of the season without one of its central pillars at the back.
